Start with the restraint your dog and vehicle can use. Compare comfort accessories separately.

Before you buy
Purpose
Decide whether you need a vehicle restraint, a carrier, an elevated perch or upholstery protection. These serve different purposes.
Evidence and fit
Look up the exact model and size in independent test results. Measure your dog and check the maker's weight and body-shape limitations.
Installation
Read the manual for the exact restraint and compare it with your vehicle's belt arrangement. Do not substitute an accessory tether for the specified installation.
A booster or seat cover should not be assumed to protect a dog in a crash. Certification applies to specified products and test conditions, not every item from a brand.

Breed fit guides
Use a breed guide for context, then measure your individual dog. Breed guides share the category checklist; a breed name does not establish a separate product test.
