Read the selected chew's minimum age and weight band. Different sizes and shapes within a brand may have different instructions.
Evidence
Check the current Veterinary Oral Health Council list for the exact product and whether acceptance covers plaque, tartar or both.
Daily routine
Compare serving calories and ingredients, and supervise chewing. Choose dog toothpaste and a brush you can use comfortably.
Chews supplement brushing and veterinary care. Do not use a chew to work around pain, bleeding or difficulty eating.
